This is my newest artwork to land in my Lakeview home this year! I LOVE TO COLLECT ART especially pieces that have deeper meaning. This new favorite hit my radar when I was doing a fitting for an upcoming charity event. I immediately saw it and needed it in my life. I also quickly noticed that the photographer was a former guest on TWRS! Lori Swerdlow is an artist that literally let’s nothing hold her back (even her MS).

CHANGE IS GOOD: I saw this picture and immediately thought back to my time of working with the Chicago Tribune Content Agency. During those days I did anything and everything to get my paint (aka- the show) to stick to the wall. I needed to get in front of more viewers and was willing to try some outside of the box avenues. The Tribune Content Agency was one of those (early streaming days)! It’s amazing when we take pause and think about all the paths our journey has taken us down. Some good, some bad and some in between gray moments…. Ultimately though, it’s all leading us to this beautiful life.

When the Agnecy closed shop, my show had started airing on Public Television. Looking back, I had no idea I this was Chapter 1 for my streaming adventure (NOW WERE ARE ON AMAZON) and the PBS NATIONAL APP. You see, change can be A GOOD THING!

Happy New Year again! (Not sure how long we say it ;) LOVE AND LIGHT -Whit

MORE ON “BREAKING NEWS”

Hi, I’m Lori Swerdlow a local Chicago Street Photographer.

In April 2019, I made a “once-in-my-lifetime” image Tribune
Silhouette
”. Sharing it with Golub & Company, the buildings new
owners, I learned that on July 8th the Chicago Tribune sign was
going to come down, was being sent out for a refurbishment and that the new
installation would be totally different. That news immediately went on my radar
and I was on it! So,

Breaking News

… the image you see here on Whitney’s wall was made that
day - July 8th as I tooled around looking for every possible angle,
I could maneuver my way into, through or on!

How did this piece get its name? By September I hadn’t named the
picture yet and it being a favored piece by many I asked for input from my mailing
list subscribers. The title “Breaking News” was submitted by 2 separate people
and chosen after receiving a cumulative 71 super creative ideas from 54 players.
Each winner received a signed limited edition of “Breaking News” to add to
their private collections.
