Project Point Shoe, JOIN THE MISSION
Project Pointe Shoe is a special fundraiser benefiting youth programming at Ballet Chicago, the city’s only pre-professional Balanchine dance school. Chicago fashion and accessories designers have taken the favorite characters from the beloved ‘Ballet Chicago’s’ Nutcracker and decorated pointe shoes to reflect this inspiration. Noted fashion photographer Blake Martin captured the images of the shoes and student dancers.
These one of a kind pointe shoes are available in an online raffle format for a price of $10 per ticket starting now through December 19th. Multiple tickets for multiple shoes can be purchased to increase your chance to win! The winners will be announced on December 19th and the shoes can be delivered in time for the Holidays! Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Ballet Chicago youth programming. To purchase a raffle ticket, visit this link: https://dashboard.betterworld.org/
Project Pointe Shoe will be on display at the 900 N Michigan Avenue Shops, on the 5th floor next to Bloomingdale’s.
Ballet Chicago’s The Nutcracker will offer performances December 9-18th at the historic Athenaeum Theatre. For tickets, visit this link: https://www.balletchicago.org/nutcracker

The show is supported by interviews with celebrities, everyday people, and experts.
More Behind the Mission!
Episode 130: How to be Your Own Best "Yes!" with Whitney ReynoldsBrilliantly Resilient
I made a vow to myself that I was going to be my best ‘Yes.” I believed in myself wholeheartedly.
-Whit
How many times have you heard the word “No?” When we’re young, we hear ‘No” often from our caregivers as a way to keep us safe. But as we grow, we begin to hear “No” when we’re being stopped for different reasons.
A project we believe in, something we have our hearts set on to do or obtain, a promotion at a job, so many things can lead us to a ``No,” despite how much we work towards or desire a certain outcome.
Whitney Reynolds has heard “No” a lot. But she realized that the only way to achieve her goals and dreams was to be her own best “Yes.” Whitney learned how to “connect the dots” in her life to determine her purpose and create true change in the world. As Whitney tells us, she still heard “No” more times than she could count, but by believing in herself and her mission, she found the energy and strength to keep moving and evolving, eventually creating The Whitney Reynolds Show to inspire others to overcome challenges.
“No” doesn’t have to be the end of the road for a dream or goal. Here at Brilliantly Resilient, the pandemic served up more “No’s” than we could count. Yet, the path to achievement and success is rarely a straight line. When we’re willing to change course and connect the dots, as Whitney says, we can move forward and find our own mission, Brilliance, and Resilience. Tune in to hear more of Whitney’s wisdom on this episode of the Brilliantly Resilient podcast.
Let’s be Brilliantly Resilient together!

Whitney Host PUBLIC MEDIA AWARDS!
September 13, 2022
Columbia, SC – The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) recognizes public media’s achievements with the annual Public Media Awards (PMA). The 54th PMA winners will be announced at the PMA Gala on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the 2022 NETA Conference and CPB Public Media Thought Leader Forum.
The Public Media Awards, presented by NETA, honor our member's work in the highest caliber community engagement, content, education, and marketing and communications. A mosaic of relevant content that reflects both creativity and diversity that paint rich stories of truth and consequence. Piece by piece and member by member, we come together as choreographers of the public good, to spark more imagination and inspiration than we ever could have alone.
“Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees,” said NETA President Eric Hyyppa. “As always, the entries are outstanding and shine a spotlight on the exemplary work that is happening across the public media system.”
Whitney Reynolds will host the 54th Public Media Awards. Reynolds is the executive producer, host, and "chief inspo officer" of the Telly Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Whitney Reynolds Show. Reynolds believes in more seats at the table, inspiration in the hard moments, and hope for all. This mindset for unique programming originally bucked the trend when the Whitney Reynolds Show launched on PBS.
“It's exciting to be back in person and hosting this live event for shows across the nation in public television,” said Reynolds. “I am truly honored to be a part of a forever positive memory with everyone involved!”
With the exception of the overall excellence categories, stations compete within their divisions based on their station size. Awards are judged by a group of expert panelists from within the public media system, as well as industry professionals working outside of public media.
