Bringing the Family Together II Moana 2

As families gather around the table this Thanksgiving, it will be a season of family, love, and coming together. Nothing embodies these themes better than Moana 2! This vibrant tale not only celebrates Polynesian culture and traditions but also encourages families to reflect on their past while ambitiously pursuing their dreams. The film invites viewers to acknowledge their roots, emphasizing the importance of storytelling as a means of keeping heritage alive.

Moana 2 promises to build on the legacy of the first movie, bringing new stories of heritage and belonging, reminding us that family isn’t a one-size-fits-all concept. It’s a spectrum that includes every form of love, whether it’s biological, chosen, or adopted. This Thanksgiving, as we reflect on gratitude, we’re reminded that the ties that bind us are stronger than any distance or difference.

Whitney sat down with Hualalai Chung, the voice of Moni, and Christina Chen, one of the producers on the film to talk about how important the themes of family are to their personal life. Hualalai Chung shared that the thing that brought him to tears the most was the authentic way Polynesian culture is represented in the Moana films. He loves being part of this beautiful celebration of his culture. Christina Chen also cherishes the family ties represented in the movie. She hopes the film inspires families to come together this holiday season.

Just as Moana’s journey was shaped by her culture, her ancestors, and the ocean that connects us all, we too can celebrate the diverse families we belong to. So, as we pass the mashed potatoes and turkey this season, let’s honor what unites us, remembering that family, in all its forms, is the greatest treasure of all.
