Second Chances and Stardom with Gregory Popovich
Coming up on our new season, I sit down with Gregory Popovich, a performer who’s dedicated his life to showcasing the talents of rescue animals. Raised in a circus family, Gregory has given over 150 animals from shelters a second chance, training them with patience and respect. His philosophy is simple: no force—only trust and understanding.
Right now, Gregory is on tour, bringing his Comedy Pet Theater to audiences around the country—don’t miss the chance to see this unforgettable show live!
What stood out to me most was Gregory’s deep connection to his family’s circus tradition. He proudly shared that his daughter now performs alongside him, carrying on the legacy. Gregory’s passion for animal rescue and education is inspiring, and he even wrote a book, passing on his decades of family experience in animal training.
For our PBS kids viewers, we looped in my eight-year-old son who wants to be a zookeeper to hear what questions he had for this Las Vegas icon. Gregory was thoughtful and encouraging, reminding us all of the power of second chances—not just for animals, but for all of us.
